ABOUT US

Are you interested in textiles? Do you spin, weave or dye, or perhaps would like to learn?

We aim to preserve, practice and share our crafts, and maintain and improve standards in our chosen fields. We meet regularly to swap tips and ideas, discuss our work, to learn new techniques and to enjoy the company of like minded people. Members can often be found displaying their work and demonstrating their skills at local exhibitions, shows and craft fairs.

We have a full programme of visiting experts, who demonstrate their crafts or lecture on various aspects of their particular subject. We have workshop sessions, often with visiting tutors or with specialists from within our membership. Between us we have a large pool of knowledge, skill  and experience, gained over many years.

We have equipment for hire and occasionally secondhand items for sale. This is particularly useful for beginners who do not know what or whether to buy.

There is a well stocked library with books and journals available to borrow at a small fee. There is information about shows, courses, suppliers, exhibitions and classes.

Come and meet us. if you have yet to try our crafts, come and discover the satisfaction of producing your own unique hand made textiles. If you already enjoy the crafts, then why not come and share your work with us. Everyone is warmly welcome. Why not drop in to one of our meetings, have a cup of tea or coffee and see for yourself!
